Irrigators sweat on river plan delay

Home/Agricultural Gypsum, News/Irrigators sweat on river plan delay

Irrigators on the Murray Darling basin system are worried that neither political party has committed to releasing a water plan before the election.

The irrigators are unsure of potential water buy backs and requirements for environmental water flows, which could leave their intensive agricultural businesses and properties in a non commercial position.

Farmers, companies, banks and communities are hamstrung by the delay of the plan due to the uncertainty that it is creating.
