Avoid Landfilling of Plasterboard Waste
Plasterboard and gyprock is the principal wall material used in the Australia. It is made of a sheet of gypsum covered on both sides with a paper liner. Worldwide a total of 80 million tons of plasterboard/drywall is produced every year. As most of the construction and demolition gypsum waste is still sent to landfill, this means that approx. 15 million tons of waste is being landfilled yearly, or more than 40.000 tons of waste every day.
